Netscape Gold 3.0 Web Browser
Our favorite web browser, even over AOL's browser which incorporates MS Explorer. This may, however, certainly change with the recent acquisition of Netscape by America Online. The Netscape browser is very popular and is clean, easy to navigate and icons are organized well. Version 3.0 is still our favorite. While 4.0 Communicator has security, conferencing and many other plugins and a unique feature that allows you to make icon buttons on the browser for your favorite bookmarks, the 3.0 version is recommened over the newer 4.0 -- Communicator crashes often and is over-engineered, when just a simple browser will do. It is estimated that Netscape's browser accounts for 45% of all browsers used, though it used to be much higher before Microsoft's Explorer came out and was made the default browser on AOL, Windows 95 & 98 and Apple's Macintosh.
